We’re very excited to provide the chance at three (count ‘em, 1, 2, 3) free licenses to the excellent Mockups app by Balsamiq Studios!
I’ve been using Balsamiq Mockups for more than a year and couldn’t be happier with how quickly I can turn an interface idea into something tangible. For example, I mocked up this simplified version of the FYC homepage in about 20 minutes:

The best way to see the power of Mockups is to watch this video wherein iTunes’ interface is mocked up in less than 3 minutes:

With a team of 3 very passionate designers, I really need to come up with something like Balsamiq to fully explain what I need them to visualize and convert to a nice design. I’ve been using the demo for some time, and I feel this is the right tool for us ..
Such a nice giveaway!! Thanx!!
I love drawing!
But i have no drawing skills whatsoever…
Last year, a friend of mine invited me to join him in his Webdesign company
I was so excited!
..But I was called to help them with the financial and managing things…
booooooring…
In my first attempt to ‘web design’ something, our church’s website,
they ‘mocked me up’!….it wasn’t bad…it was horrible,
I used (i am kinda embarrassed to day it..) paint brush……
After that I was banned from the design Brainstorm room….
So, since then I’ve been trying to make my comeback
and with the Balsamiq Studio, i am pretty sure they will accept me back!
Thanks!
Because the fastest you get the prototype, faster you get the money in the pocket. ;)
Someone recommended Balsamiq to me, so having searched for ages, I spent $$$ buying it from Ebay. However, when it came, it was a package of “balsamic vinegar”. The outcome? My salad tastes great, however my websites are missing out on dressing. Please ‘lettuce’ *sigh* rectify this mistake and help my websites rocket to number one with Balsamiq!
Oh i need this mockups app for several reasons:
1. Starting College for IT Security, Dev, and Design
2. I’m Poor
3. I’m Broke
4. I need a job
5. Usually i can’t afford to get the software i want and this is so useful!, I would love to use this for the websites i build.
6. I’m working on two websites for social innovation and this would be great to help out with the design. I’m working on a Global Emergency Network which is a mash of news, information, communication, facebook and more for when disaster strikes.
The other website i’m using will host a wikipedia type website for indigenous knowledge.
This would be awesome to get!
Just look at my sites. How badly do I need this? Could I need this any more badly?
Because I don’t want to just use it with VINEGAR for dipping bread, but want to use it in help DESIGNING… Balsamiq Mock Ups, not Downs, BAMMMMMMMMMMM!
Much love you, thanks for hooking it up
I should win because that would finally a good use for a comic sans like font for me :)
You know when you are looking for work and you then stumble upon some cool software and say “damn I could use that” only to find out it’s not free and now you are facing a decision between buying it and paying for rent. Well I’m kinda on that situation.
Also the fun font it has is gonna make future employers happy all over the world because they are going to think we are using comic sans for their site, just like their mothers, who designed a menu in 1985, told them would look good.
Because my question about mocking up GUIs is my highest rated question on stackoverflow and Balsamiq was the second highest rated response (second only to paper prototyping, which is what I’ve been doing since I asked that question): http://stackoverflow.com/questions/295589/what-program-should-i-use-to-mock-up-guis
Its perfect for me to create mockups for a project in a timely manner which saves money. The comic font is great looking and UI is excellent. Would like to participate in the contest. Thanks.
You should just know it should be me !
Who else but me will create the next generation porn pages to kepp the public bandwith demand growing? …ok or just make great rockin’ medium-sized businesses websites.
I’m bound by my own stubborn principles:
I’m developing 3 sites as spare-time, retirement-fund projects with various collaborators, all are zero-cost (in order to risk only time) and I’ve previously told others off for spending cash on them before for things like stock images, etc. I know it’s not much money, and good value too, but I just don’t want to be a hypocrite. I love the demo so much that I’ve nearly caved once already.
My nose is nearly cut off, and my face appears to be barely spited at all :)
Hi
I have demo’ed it and love it. My drawing skills struggle at stick men so could really do with a copy :D
Love mockups, but it’s getting tedious in Illustrator and PhotoShop. Would love to grab me some Balsamiq to mockup all day long :)
I am in for this freebie wonder-tool give away. I tried using the demo online and crave for a full version :-)
Thanks.
hi & thanks jerod & balsamiq for the giveaway, i’d like to partake in this if i’m not to late..
balsamiq is a lovely program when tinkering with ideas & sharing them, actually i read balsamiq’s blog just last week and had the opportunity to test their beta…
so why would i need this? ..
it sure would simplify things hence i trial & error (betatesting) much, this as homeuser-enduser providing “free of charge” ideas & feedback and this quite often for micro-isv just as balsamiq, mockups would be very helpful in this quest visualizing my ideas.
Because I like to make things; but making the whole thing just to show how the whole thing will look when made doesn’t really make sense.
Hello can I reference some of the material here in this blog if I provide a link back to your site?
Sure, no problem :)
